ANSMANN rechargeable battery charger Powerline 4 Ultra

With the intelligent battery charger, up to four NiMH rechargeable batteries, sizes AA (HR6) and AAA (HR03), three C-sized rechargeable batteries (HR14), two D-sized rechargeable batteries (HR20) or four Li-Ion rechargeable batteries, size 18650, can be charged simultaneously, even mixed - regardless of number, size, capacity or charge status. Each of the 4 charge bays is individually monitored and individually charged/discharged.

Charge function

After inserting a rechargeable battery the charge mode starts and charges the battery fully. In doing so, each rechargeable battery is charged individually. This means that rechargeable batteries of different types, different capacities and different charge conditions can be inserted and charged/discharged. After charging is complete, the charger automatically switches to pulse maintenance charging and keeps the rechargeable battery at 100%. This ensures that the rechargeable batteries are always ready to use and also that they can remain in the charge station for a longer period of time. After being fully charged, individual rechargeable battery cells can be removed and new ones inserted without this influencing the charge procedure in the other charge bays.
Rechargeable batteries inserted the wrong way round and deep-discharged batteries (NiMH <0.2V / Li-ion <2.0V) will be detected automatically and will not be charged.

Adjustable charge programs and charge currents

For professionals, the device offers the facility to adjust the charge program and the charge current individually for each charge bay. The "Mode" button can be used to select the charge mode and the "Current" button can be used to select the charge current. The settings currently selected are identified with an arrow. If no adjustment is carried out, the charger uses 500mA for charging. If batteries need to be charged quickly, three rechargeable batteries can be charged with 1500mA or two rechargeable batteries with 2000mA. The charge time shortens accordingly. In addition, the charger can measure the capacity and can also discharge rechargeable batteries. Regardless of whether you wish to charge NiMH or lithium ion rechargeable batteries, the charge currents can be selected as follows: 4× 500/1000mA, 3× 1500mA or 2× 2000mA. The discharge current is always 500mA.

Compatible rechargeable battery sizes

The universal charge bays can accept rechargeable battery cells with a diameter up to 33mm and a length of 70mm. So, the battery charger is compatible with all recharge battery sizes from AAA to D (not the 9V "block" style batteries), as well as from 10340 to 32650 lithium ion batteries. In total, up to four rechargeable batteries can be charged simultaneously. With larger diameter rechargeable batteries the number of batteries that can be charged simultaneously is reduced:

• 1.2V NiMH rechargeable batteries: 1-4× AAA or AA / 1-3× C / 1-2× D
• 3.6V/3.7V Li-ion rechargeable batteries: 1-4× 18650, 18500, 17670, 16340, 14500 etc. / 1-3× 26650, 26500, 25500, 22650 / 1-2× 32650

USB connection

Any conventional USB device, such as powerbanks, cameras or even smartphones and tablets, can be charged via the USB port (5V/2A). Practical when travelling: Only one rechargeable battery charger is required for all end devices, saving space and weight.

LCD display

The charge display clearly shows the rechargeable battery voltage (V), charge/discharge current (mA), capacity (mAh) and charge duration (h) for each charge bay. The "Channel" button switches the view between the various charge bays.

Charge time

The following charge times apply depending on the charge current selected:

• NiMH rechargeable batteries with 1000mAh capacity = 40min - 2h30min | 2500mAh = 1h30min - 6h
• Li-ion rechargeable batteries with 1000mAh = 30min - 2h | 2000mAh = 1 - 4h

Suitable for whom?

The Powerline 4 Ultra is the ideal solution for standard users and advanced users who want to charge both NiMH and Li-Ion rechargeable batteries and who may wish to set the charge current manually or measure the capacity at times. If no adjustments are made, the rechargeable batteries are charged automatically and can be inserted and removed individually.
